Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
This policy explains how PDF Alati (pdfalati.com) handles your files and data, in line with the Law on Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Serbia and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Documents processed in your browser
The following tools process files only in your web browser, on your device: Merge PDF, Split PDF, Remove pages, Extract pages, Organize PDF, Rotate PDF, JPG to PDF, PDF to JPG, PDF to text, Page numbers, Watermark and Sign PDF. With these tools your documents, images and signatures are not sent to our server and we have no access to their content.
2. Documents processed on our server
Compress PDF, Protect PDF, Unlock PDF, Word to PDF, PDF to Word, Excel to PDF and PowerPoint to PDF require processing on our server. For these tools:
- the file (and the password, for protecting and unlocking) is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection;
- the file is stored in a temporary, non-public folder only while it is processed (usually a few seconds);
- both the uploaded and the processed file are deleted automatically right after processing;
- we do not read, copy, analyse or reuse the content of documents for any purpose;
- passwords are never written to any log;
- macros in Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents are never executed.
3. Contact form
When you write to us via the contact form, we receive your name, email address, message and IP address (to prevent abuse). We use this data only to reply and do not share it with third parties. Messages are kept for at most two years.
4. Technical logs and security
Our web server automatically records basic technical access data (IP address, time, requested address, browser information) for maintenance and protection against attacks. These logs are deleted automatically after a short period. The site uses Cloudflare for protection and faster loading, which also processes technical access data. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address.
5. Cookies and advertising
The site itself does not use tracking cookies. To fund the free tools, the site may display Google AdSense ads. In that case:
- third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites;
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet;
- you can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info;
- learn more on "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services".
Visitors from the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland are shown a consent notice where they can accept or refuse personalised ads. Ads have no access to your documents.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete the data we hold about you (e.g. messages from the form) and the right to object. Send your request via the contact page. You may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority.
7. Children
The site is not intended for children under 15 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date of the latest change is shown at the top of the page.
