Spreadsheets ready to send and print

Excel is indispensable for working with numbers, but it isn't ideal for sending: the recipient can accidentally change values, formulas can recalculate differently and a spreadsheet is hard to read on a phone. Price lists, calculations, reports, lists and schedules are therefore usually sent to clients, accountants and institutions as PDF. Excel to PDF converts a spreadsheet in seconds, without Office.

How to make the spreadsheet look good in PDF

The conversion respects the page setup from Excel, so the result depends mostly on it:

  • Print area (Page Layout β†’ Print Area) – if set, only that part of the sheet goes into the PDF.
  • Orientation – set wide sheets to Landscape.
  • Fit to page – "Fit to 1 page wide" prevents columns from breaking across pages.
  • Repeat headers – "Print Titles" repeats the column-name row on every page.

Every worksheet in the file is included in the PDF, in the order of the sheets.

Security

The conversion is performed by LibreOffice Calc on our server. The file is sent over an encrypted connection, processed in isolation and deleted right after conversion. Macros are never executed.
