When you need to split a PDF
Large PDF documents are not always practical. You scanned a whole binder at once but every document needs to be a separate file? A portal only accepts files up to a certain size? You want to send a colleague just one chapter of a book or report? Split PDF divides a document into smaller files in seconds.
Three ways to split
- By ranges – you decide which pages go into which file. Entering 1-3, 4-8, 9 creates three files. The range 10- means "from page 10 to the end".
- Every page separately – ideal when one PDF contains several one-page documents (receipts, confirmations, certificates).
- Into parts of N pages – useful for dividing a large document evenly, e.g. a 60-page contract into six parts of ten pages.
Quality and privacy
Pages are copied without any change to their content – text stays searchable, images keep their resolution and fonts are unchanged. Splitting happens in your browser, so the document never leaves your device. Bookmarks from the original are not carried over, because they could point to pages that are not in the new file.
